The traditional Moldovan carpet is one of the elements of the national cultural heritage!
The Moldovan carpet is created by housewives, who were taught by their grandmothers, with much love and traditional ornaments. It is more than a decorative item, it is a story, a symbol; you will not find a traditional Moldovan house without carpets on the walls or the floor. It is now considered a treasure of folk art, which was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
The HERIPRENEURSHIP project aims to promote and capitalize on the Moldovan Carpet – a handicraft item, gathering, among others, as many art lovers as possible.
The 8th edition of the “Carpet of Longing” fair took place at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History of the Republic of Moldova. The purpose of the fair was to make the basic motifs and symbols of the national carpet know to the wider public. The event was attended by representatives of the government and professional association, with speeches by the Minister of Culture, Sergiu Prodan and other officials. The HERIPRENEURSHIP project was represented by Tatiana Lupașcu, project manager and Natalia Turcanu, director of ANTRIM – partner association within the HERIPRENEURSHIP project.
